Job Title: Heavy-Civil Construction Estimator/Project Manager

Heavy-Civil Construction Estimator/Project Manager - If you are a Heavy-Civil Estimator with Concrete/Pipeline Construction experience, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our growing team and help us continue further expand our business! Skills Required Strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a focus on Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong typing skills. Knowledge of building code. Ability to read and navigate plans and specifications. Good interpersonal and written communication skills. Detail oriented. This position requires experience and expertise in project planning and management in analysis of operations for the purpose of proposing innovative solutions to problems, and in organizing, writing, and editing information to make it meaningful to a wide array of audiences, including high level executives. Must have the ability to adjust plans and schedules to respond to crisis situations and to withstand pressure attributable to meeting the changing needs of company executives. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously. Proven project management skills and experience with demonstrated experience in delivering on commitments within budget. Functional understanding of general financial principles. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Demonstrate the ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources. Must be able to determine whether tasks should be attempted; identify the most effective way of completing the task; and preparing how to overcome unexpected difficulties. Must be skilled in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and delegating effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results. Ability to travel, when applicable. Ability to write professional reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to site staff, senior management, and public groups. Ability to work in conjunction with Company managers and associates. Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrate original thinking, openness to change, and offer alternate solutions to problems. Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to facilitate meetings, conduct effective briefings and presentations, and to develop consensus both internally and externally, with people who reflect the full range of diversity in the business objectives. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Performs duties that require strong comprehension, analytical, research, composition, communication, and organizational skills. Must be skilled in word processing, drafting correspondence and memoranda, creating, and maintaining databases. Main Responsibilities Include: • Maintain and support all internal safety, quality, and environmental standards and procedures. • Manage projects to completion after award. • Developing estimates and bids for construct ion projects. • Completing take-offs to gather information for bids. • Reading plans and specifications. • Understanding and navigating building codes. • Reviewing sites and gathering information for estimates for work on existing buildings. • Operating company estimating system to develop bids and estimates. • Review and compile "take-off" quantities, existing cost history, calculations to ensure accuracy. • Participate in estimate and bid reviews. • Review and report drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions. • Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods. • Analyze and communicate bidding risks and strategies. Designing solutions for customer's problems. • Collect and analyze data that impacts all aspects of job to maximize quality and accuracy of bid in a timely manner. • Participate in pre-construction meetings to ensure field operations understanding of scope of job.
